It was clear that Luka Doncic was going to be a great addition to the NBA. He showcased so much power, and maturity at such a young age. With a EuroLeague championship, EuroLeague MVP, and Final Four MVP at 18 years old under his belt, his career is just getting started. He backs up his achievements through and through during every performance. At the age of 21, in his second season, Luka has secured himself as one of the top players in today's league. I can't help but think that we are witnessing someone who can one day be considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time. In this season alone Luka gathered 17 triple-doubles only supporting and proving how good he really is. One of my favorite games to look back at from this season which really displays all of Lukas skills would be his most recent game against the number one team in the league The Milwaukee bucks, where he scored 36 points, 19 assists, and 14 rebounds leading the Dallas Mavericks to a close victory in overtime. He also proved how controlled and effective he is even when the pressures on, in-game four of round 1 against the LA Clippers, Luka in the deep left-wing, drills a step back game-winner in Reggie Jacksons face tying up the series despite them being down 21 points in the second quarter. Luka finished that game with 43 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 assists, with a jaw-dropping, unforgettable ending. He continues to look extremely comfortable, even while playing veteran superstars. With the question of his athleticism being enough before entering the league, he quickly found ways to shake defenders in different ways than most do. He didn't have to attack the rim, or attempt crazy dunks to prove his athleticism, the way he separates himself from the defenders proves enough. Along with being a top scorer, his vision for setting up plays and making fantastic assists is a mixture for a future MVP. People and spectators tend to forget how young he is because of the effect he has already made in the league, as a 21-year-old he is being compared to some of the best players we have ever seen including Lebron James, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard. Although he isn't at the level of those players quite yet, it is scary how close he is and where he can go. He still has so much room for improvement and growth. I am so excited to see what the future holds for this 21-year-old superstar, and can't wait to see him develop into a bigger threat and monster than he already is. With the Clippers leading this round one series 3-2, can Luka and the Mavericks figure out a way to tie up this series once again, and potentially cause an upset no one was expecting?
